Children & Family

Harris Creek Children and Family Ministry seeks to assist parents in effectively discipling children by teaching them to love God passionately, love others unconditionally, and serve the world energetically. This discipleship process will continue as the children exhibit these characteristics and are ready for the Middle School Ministry.

Ministry

"Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.'" Matthew 19:14. There was never a time when Jesus turned children away. He always welcomed and included them in His ministry. Just as Jesus was concerned with children, so should we be. The church is to be a place where children are welcomed and trained in the truths of the Bible.

We recognize that faith commitments are made early – most people decide by the age of 13 whether or not they will follow Christ (George Barna Research Group). We want to provide an environment in which children are safe, are taught at an age-appropriate level, and are encouraged to develop a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Parents are the #1 faith-developer of their children, so the Family Ministry at Harris Creek desires to involve parents in what their children are learning. We want to help them become better parents and better teachers of their children.
