For this event we will be taking a group of students to Mission Waco's Poverty Simulation. This is a controlled simulation of what it is like to be homeless for a weekend. Groups from all over the country travel in to take part of these simulations, and we are lucky enough to have it in our own backyard. There will be sessions that talk about poverty, and we will be forced to make tough decisions when it comes to resources and other things. We will sleep outside in a gated area that is a controlled environment. On Sunday morning we will attend church at the Church Under the Bridge. The cost of this event is $50 and we are only allowed to take 20 students, and our group will be a part of a much larger group. This event will be handled on a first come, first served basis. The dates for this event are July 24-26. There are packets and a sign-up sheet for registration in the Student Center. The deadline for registration will be June 28 and your spot is not reserved until you have paid the full $50. We also need every student to have a current
release form signed before going on this event.
