Harris Creek Transition Update

This past Sunday, James announced his resignation as Senior Pastor of Harris Creek effective May 30.  We are very grateful for the Tippit family and their service the past 4 ½ years.  While many of the next steps and plans are developing, we wanted to share with you the information we have at this point. 

James’ Schedule

James will be in and around the office between now and May 30.  He will be assisting the staff in key transition areas.  This is much appreciated.  If you would like to contact him and wish him well, you are encouraged to call the church office and they will help get you connected.

Reception for the Tippit Family

Our Fellowship Committee is planning a reception on May 30 at 4pm at the church.  More details to follow.

Staff Contacts

During the transition and upcoming period of time, please allow our pastoral staff time to continue to direct the many ministries of our church and their individual departments.  We have many key programs and events that need clear focus and attention by the staff.  For any pastoral questions or needs (hospital, prayer, sickness, counseling, etc.), please direct these to David Britt our Executive Pastor.  For questions about the transition please direct these to one of our Elders and not the church staff.  We desire that their focus remain on ministry direction and implementation.

Next Step Priorities

At this point, our top priorities and process steps are as follows:

·        Prayer – we will have prayer this Wednesday night from 6pm to 6:30pm at the church.  Please come.

·        Assist James during the transition and serve the HCBC body

·        Insure continued execution of the all ministry departments and plans by the staff

·        Plan, organize and implement an interim plan for preaching and pastoral care that serves our congregation

·        Solidify and communicate HCBC vision and strategy that will continue our progress and build the future

·        Establish a pastoral search team, after vision and strategy communication have been completed, that targets a man consistent with the mission and vision of HCBC

There are many moving parts in a senior staff transition.  It is the intention of the HCBC Elder Board to provide regular communication to you to let you know where we are in the process.  In the meantime, please feel free to contact us with any and all questions.
