The Kids Ministry of Harris Creek exists to help children discover what it means to follow Jesus.
About Kids Ministry
Understanding that most people decide by the age of 13 whether they will follow Christ, it is our desire for our ministry to affect kid’s lives from the very beginning of their faith journey so that each child becomes a disciple of Christ. What does this look like for such a wide age span? For babies (birth to one year), it means providing a safe and loving environment where infants learn to trust adults to meet their needs. For toddlers and young preschoolers (one to three years), it means providing opportunities to talk about God in relation to the world they are learning all about. For older preschoolers (three to five years), it means introducing key Bible passages and concepts to form and develop their understanding of who God is. For elementary-age kids (kindergarten to 6th grade), it means diving deeper into Scripture and applying it to their own lives in order to develop an intimate relationship with God, a deep love for others, and a heart of service for the city they live in and for the world around them.
On-Going Events
Create
Preschool is the time for first experiences! We invite kids two months old through pre-kindergarten to join us on Sunday mornings as we give them a first look at their Heavenly Father. Create seeks to introduce kids to their Creator through hands-on activities, playing games, singing songs, a monthly Bible verse and hearing Bible stories. Each week's stories and lessons relate back to three main truths: God made me, God loves me, and Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
Navigate
Kindergarteners through 4th graders are invited to join us on Sunday mornings as we help children navigate through Scripture and day-to-day life. Our kid's worship service, Navigate, incorporates elements of both corporate worship and teaching as well as intentional time of relationship building in small groups with kids of the same age and gender. Each week's stories and lessons relate back to three basic truths: I need to make the wise choice, I can trust God no matter what, and I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
Integrate
As kids get older the message doesn't change but the approach must! Integrate is our program for 5th and 6th graders and during Integrate students can expect games, teaching, and small group time that engages them in an age-appropriate way. We desire for this to be an engaging time for students to grow in community and grow in their relationships with God! Integrate takes place during each Sunday morning service.
Explore
On Sunday and Wednesday nights, babies through 6th graders are invited to join us for Explore while their parents attend Life Group. Explore provides kids with an opportunity to learn that they are known and loved by God, as well as to explore the Bible. Toddler and preschool children walk through curriculum that builds off of the monthly themes learned in Create on Sunday mornings. Kindergarten through 6th graders also walk through curriculum similar to Sunday mornings in Navigate. At Harris Creek, we believe in discipling the next generation of leaders. This is an internship program designed to develop and equip individuals in various concentrations for ministry. Each internship, no matter the ministry concentration, will have weekly meetings with a staff member, quantifiable goals and objectives for the duration of the internship, and hands-on experience in their desired concentration.

How is kids ministry broken into age groups?
How secure is the facility and my child during services?
Upon check-in, a matching bar code sticker will be printed for each child and parent. Kids are only released with that matching sticker. Our facilities also are secured once services have begun. Only authorized personnel are allowed in our Kids Ministry areas once services have begun.
It's my first time Visiting HArris Creek, where do I go to check in my kids?
Do I need to bring anything for my kids on Sunday morning?
If your child is in diapers, we ask that you bring a spare change. Otherwise, your child does not need to bring anything on a Sunday morning. For Elementary kids, we provide Bibles and supplies for our lessons.
How will I be contacted if my child is upset?
Our Kids Ministry will contact you via the mobile device number you gave us when you checked in. We ask you have your phone with you in service in case we need to contact you.
What curriculum do you teach from?
We use the reThink group “Orange” curriculum. The foundation of this curriculum lies in the partnership between home and church – the home is red, the church is yellow and together they make Orange.
