GLOBAL MISSIONS

WE EXIST TO HELP EVERY MEMBER MAKE DISCIPLES OF ALL NATIONs

After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb” Revelation 7:9.

In the end, every single people/ethnic group that has ever existed will be represented around the throne of God in heaven. Here’s the problem: There are still entire people/ethnic groups in our world today that have never heard the good news of Jesus. These people are considered “unreached” by the gospel, meaning that the good news of Jesus has never reached them.

At Harris Creek, we are creating opportunities to discover God’s heart for the nations, develop as a disciple-maker, and deploy to the nations because it’s why the Church exists – to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19) and spread the gospel to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8).

Did you know?

There are currently over 3 billion people in our world today who are unreached by the gospel. This means these people will likely live their entire lives without ever hearing the good news of Jesus.

According to Joshua Project, there are over 17,000 unique people groups, or nations, in the world with over 7,000 of them considered unreached – that’s over 40% of the world’s population!

 FAQs

  • Most of Harris Creek’s international sending is to the 10/40 window. We have strategically prioritized our international going to these places. Whether it’s 10 days or 10 years, the 10/40 window have the largest need with little to no access to the gospel.

    What is the 10/40 window?
The 10/40 window consists of all the countries within 10- and 40- degrees latitude stretching across North Africa, the Middle East, South Asia, and Southeast Asia. 96% of the world’s unreached people groups live inside the 10/40 window. This totals to roughly 3 billion people unreached by the gospel.

  • “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.” These are Jesus’ words about our world, and they are still true today, therefore we should go to where the harvest is the most plentiful.

Passion of God (fall) is the best starting place for anyone wanting to grow in their awareness and knowledge of reaching the unreached. Disciple Making Teams (spring) is a great action step from Passion of God to begin implementing reaching our unreached neighbors.

  • Every year about 1 million international students come to the United States. Baylor enrolls about 1,000 of those international students, which provides a tremendous opportunity for the Church!

80% of these international students never step foot into an American home. This is why we have partnered with Baylor’s Global Friendship Program to welcome international students who are likely from unreached areas of the world into our homes to share the love of Christ with them.

  • Senders are no lesser than goers. In fact, it takes multiple senders to produce a healthy goer. Sending and going may be different in role, but they are certainly equal in rank. A great way you can help support Harris Creek members who are going is to serve at or host programs such as Passion of God, Disciple Making Teams, or our 9 training groups. Helping fund trips is another great way to send short term, mid term, and long term teams and individuals.
