Do you have a passion for the Church and making Jesus known in this generation? Are you sensing vocational ministry is the next step in your journey and desiring to be developed and equipped practically? Join our Residency where you can grow and be trained in how we do ministry here at Harris Creek. You’ll get to be part of a small group of Residents and integrated into our staff team as we join God in His mission here in Waco and beyond.

Equipping

As a Resident, you will spend time learning the Bible, theology, and our philosophy of ministry. We devote an entire day of the week to equipping our Residents to know and apply God’s Word into a ministry context.

Hands on experience

Residents will be placed on a ministry team and integrated into our staff team. This is not merely “grunt work,” but a chance to serve alongside our staff and gain real ministry experience a in fast-paced church environment.

Community & Discipleship

We intentionally keep our Residency small to develop a family atmosphere within the group. Along with spending a lot of time with the other Residents, you will also be placed in a Life Group with peers your age so you can experience life alongside a community of other believers.

  • Applications for the 2027–2028 Resident Program open December 1, 2026 and close January 15, 2027.

  • The residency will go from August through May.

  • This program will give you real world ministry experiences paired with an in-depth study of scripture, theology, and ministry philosophy. Our goal is for each resident to learn while doing, not just observing.

  • You will work 30 hours/week, not including homework (about 10 hours a week).

    Tuesdays will be Residency days (all day on campus) in addition to Sunday responsibilities and a ministry day with your team (depending on your placement).

    You can use the remainder of your week to pick up a part-time job, work on coursework, etc.

  • You will be responsible for roughly 10 hours of homework (book reading, scripture study and memorization, etc.) each week.

  • We will provide a stipend of $1500/month. Housing assistance may be available on a case-by-case basis.

  • You are on staff for the duration of the Residency and will be held to the same expectations as all other Harris Creek staff members.

  • Unfortunately, all applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. at this time.
